Company Profile

Pyott-Boone Electronics was established in March of 1971 by Frank Pyott and Roger Boone to supply the U.S. coal mining industry with the most technologically advanced communication and monitoring systems available. Starting with just a handful of people we have grown to employ over 225 full and part time personnel around the world. In April 2011, Pyott-Boone Electronics was acquired by Prairie Capital and Vierville Capital with the intention of helping Pyott-Boone Electronics grow into the world leader in mine safety and productivity. In March of 2012, Pyott-Boone Electronics acquired the Australian company Minecom who had 20 years of underground communications experience. In February 2013, Mine Radio Systems Inc (MRS) was acquired; another global leader in communications with sales and service in over 30 countries. The acquisitions expanded the company's product suite and global reach. Minecom and MRS complement PBE?s strategy of bringing mine safety and productivity systems to mines all over the world. Following the acquisition, the combined company was named The PBE Group with separate divisions in mining, tunneling and contract manufacturing.

  • P.A.S. Proximity Alert System PBE's multi-range Proximity Alert System (PAS) is designed to enhance workplace safety by implementing the latest equipment and personnel detection technology. The proximity detection system has been developed to prevent injury and possible loss of life due to the operation of heavy machinery near workers or other hazardous materials and obstacles in mining, tunneling, confined spaces, specialty communication and explosive environments. Proximity Alert System by PBE is the first proximity detection system to integrate above ground and below ground technologies into one complete solution covering multiple ranges with optimal accuracy. PAS has numerous applications for both surface and underground operations that enhance the operator's situational awareness enabling a safer, and therefore more productive workplace.

  • MineBoss 2.0 MineBoss? 2.0 is a full-scale, centralized control system that mine operators have come to rely on for everything from basic atmospheric monitoring to complex, real-time operations information that allow operators to quickly leverage production data with more intelligence. MineBoss? 2.0 provides the integration and visibility for site-wide activity and allows control from a centralized location for a more efficient and safer mine environment. Designed with a user-friendly navigation interface, MineBoss? 2.0 provides audible and visual warnings and alarms, contains an integral database management system and is designed with future scalability and mobility in mind. The MineBoss? 2.0 has multiple alarm and warning levels that are user defined. It also allows different sound files to be associated with different events and alarms for customized alerts to various changes in the pumps and fans being monitored by the system. MineBoss? 2.0 monitors and controls atmospheric monitoring, tagging and tracking systems, leaky feeder communication systems (with BDA-4), belt and conveyor systems, fire and dust suppression systems, power supplies and battery back-up, fans and air flow, weight scales, pump controls and can relay logic and analog signals from third party products.

  • MineTracker MineTracker software provides real-time and last known location reporting and tracking using imported mine maps. MineTracker has the ability to monitor speed, telemetry, oil pressure, temperature and more in vehicles. MineTracker features include: Real Time Tracking Historic Playback Electronic Tag Board Compatibility Muck Manager Reports Map Maintenance Alerting System Asset / Hardware management User Access Security

  • PBE Fan and Pump Control Systems PBE has solutions to monitor air flow, ventilation fans, water control and other critical aspects of your mining operation. Our solutions allow third party sensors, or those of our own design, to be utilized for continuous monitoring of priority systems. Details like power status, vibration, speed, water levels and bearing temperatures can be monitored and linked directly from the computer map screen. For more information on these systems and solutions, please Contact Us to learn more about how PBE can help make your mine safer and more productive.

  • PBE Fire Suppression System PBE?s fire suppression solutions can detect and suppress fires at the conveyor belt, air compressors, rescue chambers, battery change-out stations and also activate audible and visual alarms. Fires can occur anywhere electrical devices or conveyor belts are present. The PBE system detects and suppresses fire with water by means of fusible alloy sprinkler nozzles mounted around PBE Fire Suppressionstationary equipment. PBE has chemical suppression and water based systems, both of which use temperature sensors placed around the area to be protected. The top of the line system in this category is the FlowBoss system designed to exceed MSHA and NFPA pressure requirements. These solutions are customized to cover any belt head, take up or underground belt storage area in the mine. The fire suppression systems can be monitored and controlled using PBE?s MineBoss? 2.0.

  • PBE Conveyor and Motion Monitors Designed to increase safety and productivity by preventing costly damage or accidents, PBE?s conveyor and motion monitors are ideal for use with conveyor belts, rotating devices, ventilation fans or any other equipment. PBE belt monitoring equipment has proven to be rugged, reliable and easy to use in some of the harshest mining environments on the planet and yet are flexible enough to fit any application in any industry. BeltBoss control stations are capable of monitoring:Belt Boss Conveyor Belt Monitoring Slip / Sequence Detection Overspeed and Underspeed Power Loss Material Spill Fire Suppression Dust Suppression Belt Brakes Bearing Temperature Motor Currents PBE?s BeltBoss control and monitoring solutions can either stand-alone or be networked together through PBE?s MineBoss? 2.0 and monitored from the surface in the mine?s control center.

  • PBE Responsible Ventilation System Utilizing PBE?s monitoring and control systems, the location of personnel and equipment in the mine can be determined and utilized to create zones to control the auxiliary fans of the ventilation system. This fully automated system utilizes PBE tagging and tracking components to determine the real-time location of personnel and mobile equipment and idle fans in areas where miners and diesel machines are not present. As soon as mine personnel or mobile equipment enter a zone where the ventilation systems has been idled, the software, MineTracker can restart the fan or the control system will send a command through the existing SCADA software and restart the fans in this zone. A command can also be sent from the control center prior to workers arriving at a particular zone and the system can be restarted before they arrive in this zone. Eliminating the constant use of fans in unoccupied areas of the mine where personnel are not working will greatly reduce energy consumption by the mine and lower operating costs. Additional cost savings will be realized by the reduction of maintenance on the fans due to the reduced run time of each unit and ultimately increase the life expectancy of each fan due to reduced hours of operation.

  • PBE Environmental Monitoring System PBE offers a wide range of environmental and gas monitoring systems that are capable ofPBE 3700 - Mining measuring carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, nitric oxide, methane, oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen, diesel particulates and more.
